Caught in the whirlwind of holding it all together for everyone, but can’t remember the last time someone held space for you? You’re constantly “on,” juggling big responsibilities, high expectations, and the unspoken pressure to hold it all together? If that sounds familiar, I want you to know that you were never meant to carry it all alone. I think we should talk. â€‹

I'm Dr. Amani, and I help people navigate stress, burnout, trauma, and life transitions with honesty, care, and zero judgment. In our work together, we will slow down and make sense of what has been weighing on you. Whether you are dealing with anxiety that keeps you up at night, emotional exhaustion from battles like systemic oppression, transgenerational trauma, workplace stress, or old wounds that constantly make you question your worth—I will support you in untangling the mess and rebuilding from a place that feels grounded and real. I use evidence-based practices like CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), psychodynamic, and person-centered therapies, and I always tailor our work to reflect your lived experiences, strengths, and goals. Together, we will create a space where you can breathe, explore, and reconnect with the version of you that is vibrant and bold! â€‹â€‹

I earned my doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) from Adler University in Chicago, and completed a nationally accredited internship followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in sport psychology at the University of North Carolina–Charlotte. Over the last six years, I have worked across college counseling centers, community clinics, residential programs, and private practice helping adults learn practical tools to process trauma, manage stress, and build confidence that sticks.

Outside of therapy, I am a Chicago girl living in Charlotte, North Carolina. I love traveling to explore big cities, catching a great sports game, spending time with the people I love, trying new restaurants, and diving into powerful cinema that stay with you long after the credits roll.

At the heart of it, my work is rooted in a deep commitment to Black psychology and I do this work because I believe you deserve to feel whole. I invite you to join me in building a path where you can prioritize yourself—because your well-being is non-negotiable.
