Getting Started with Therapy

Scheduling an appointment with one of our Black Girl Doctors is easy as sweet potato pie (notice I didn't say cobbler--

the crust on that cobbler is complicated)!

If you are experiencing feelings of sadness, feeling overwhelmed with stress, struggling with past trauma, feeling challenged by relationships, having a hard time processing grief, unsure of your purpose in life, grappling with racial trauma, or simply feeling like something is holding you back from reaching your full potential, we'd love to talk with you.

We have an easy 3 step process to get you started on your healing journey.

Select one of our Black Girl Doctors and schedule a New Client Consult

During this 20 minute video chat, you will get to know your therapist and talk about the changes you would like to see in your life. If you are a good fit for virtual therapy and you decide to move forward, you will be able to schedule an intake assessment right away.

Complete your paperwork & attend your intake assessment appointment

An intake assessment is a 50 minute appointment where your therapist will delve deep into your presenting concerns and background. Together you will set goals for treatment and agree to how frequently you will meet for therapy sessions.

Attend your therapy sessions and start healing

Therapy sessions are 50 minute appointments where you will work with your therapist on the goals you outlined and frequently check in to assess your progress. Therapy is active and you will be expected to continue working on your goals between sessions.

And that's it...  sweet potato pie!
